Oliver J. Tan or Ollie is a former student
at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He graduated in June
1997 with a degree in Art Studio and Asian American Studies. He has
won both the William Dole Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship
and 1996 New York Times Foundation Award. Ollie's video works
have been shown at numerous film festivals such as The 16th San
Francisco International Asian American Film Festival and 1996-1998
Los Angeles Asian American Film Festival. He was awarded "Festival
Favorite" in the 2nd Annual Asian Film Festival in Malaysia for Bitter
While I Wait. After college, he continues to use his video creativity
for corporate events, poker tounaments, and his favorite team the San
Francisco Giants. In 2005, his video Missy K: Heroes Do Come True
won the 2005 Paragon City Best Live Action Runner Up Award
for the PC video game, City of Heroes.
